Tyrolean Shale Oil

Tyrolean shale oil is produced from oil shale (formation Lias), which is over 180 million years old. The oil shale is formed from fossil deposits of the ancient Mediterranean “Thetis”, which broke the earth’s surface during the emergence of the Alps in the Bächental (Karwendel, Achensee-Tyrol) to 1800 meters above sea level. Experience the shale oil bath alone or with your partner in our wooden bathtub and enjoy the view of the mountains from which this unique natural treasure is extracted. During the bath you can learn everything about the shale oil in a multivision-show. Shale oil eases backaches, arthralgia, rheumatic deseases and skin irritations.

Shale Oil Fango, Tyrolean Alpine Hay and Softpack Treatments

The essences will be applied to your body, then you will be packed into warm blankets and put into a floating position with this unique softpack bed. The body will be heated to 43°C so that the essences can take effect:

• Tyrolean shale oil fango
  For chronic-rheumatic diseases of the musculoskeletal system, muscular tensions and spinal problems.
• Tyrolean Alpine hay
  Is steam-heated before the therapy. The hay makes you sweat, purifies your body and stimulates your cardiovascular system.
• Evening primrose oil
  Enhances the metabolism, eases hormonal discomfort, eczema, and other skin problems.
• Apple-cream pack
  Pectins (fruit acids) have a toning and rejuvenating effect on the skin tissue. Goat butter makes your skin smooth and soft. The scent of green apples makes you dream and relax.

Classic Baths

This room smells of hay and has this tub in it – a combination of a bathtub and a whirl-pool. During the bath you will get a pleasant massage and you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Karwendel and Rofan Mountains.
