Achensee: A Region where you can let your Spirit fly high!

Alpine skiing is not everyone’s idea of enjoyment; (although the Achensee ski slopes are certainly very tempting)therefore the Achensee Region – Tyrols Sport and Vitality Park – offers other winter sporting activities, guaranteedto give just as much fun and excitement!

In the Achensee Region there are 150 km of well cleared winter pathways surrounded by breathtaking snow covered mountains.(A week’s holiday just isn’t enough to discover all tracks.) There is a mixture of tranquillity and scenic splendour hidden in the manyeasy and pleasant trails though the valleys of the Karwendel Mountains, along the edge of the lake Achensee or just in and around oneof the Regions villages. For the more enthusiastic hiker there are many mountainous routes where unspoilt nature can really be felt.Many of these routes can be enjoyed with snowshoes – a super alternative way to climb through the white winter wonderland. Thereare many mountain guides in the region to help you discover and enjoy the landscape.

Sledges with or without horses

For a romantic-holiday a horse-drawn sledge-ride is a must! And something really special is when the sledge is drawn by our horse. But sledging can also be very sporting. Fun at yourown speed can be done in any 5 of the sledging runs in the Region. In Achenkirch, there is the lift to take you to the starting point orin Pertisau the “Rodelexpress” (wagons pulled by a tractor) just to make things easier!
