Cross country skiing and nordic cruising

The 5 Star Cross Country region Achensee owns one of he most extensive and best maintained cross-country areas in Austria. 220 km cross-country trails are available, many of them with 4 lanes.

In addition to the classic trails there are parallel skating lanes in full length, so that everyone from beginner to cross-country course freak can select their preferred stretches, according to his/her skiing abilities.

The local ski schools offer cross-country courses for beginners and advanced skiers. There are special work shops for Skating and Nordic Cruising and guided cross-country tours. The local sport shops are prepared to rent out cross-country ski equipment.

Nordic Cruising is an exciting new line of recreational cross country skis. The skis are broader than normal cross country skis - the result is a wide section under foot that improves stability and grip without sacrificing glide.
